Oma's Chops And Noodles

Recipes »  Main Dish  »  Slow Cooker

Another Tried and True family favorite.

"This was a nice change-up from doing beef stroganoff in the crockpot. Similar flavors, but it was definitely its own recipe. My chops came out a tiny bit dry in the middle, and I'm wondering if it didn't have to do with the broiling... maybe I'll try just pan-browning them next time. I think adding mushrooms and onions (as suggested by a previous reviewer) would be fantastic. I also might try serving it over rice instead of egg noodles." - dakotarussell

Original recipe makes 6
6 thickpork chops; (up to 8)
1 cancream of chicken soup
1 cancream of celery soup
1 12-oz cantomato sauce
1 cupswater; (up to 1 1/2)
2 tablespoonsSoy sauce
3 tablespoonsdry onion soup mix
1 bagwide egg noodles

Oma's Chops And Noodles Preparation

Season chops as you would normally season your meats. Brown under broiler 20 mins. (10 minutes each side)

In large bowl, combine all ingredients except noodles. The sauce should resemble the thickness of a gravy to adhere to the noodles.

Add chops and sauce to crockpot. Be sure the chops are smothered in sauce.

Cook on Low 8-10 hours. Chops will be so tender, you may need to spoon them out.

Serve over bed of egg noodles.

I varied the recipe just a bit because I didn't have cream if celery soup. It was still delicious. Can't wait to try it again!

Hi All - This is my recipe (Teri Parrish), Oma is my mom. Not sure I understand the comment from the low rating. There's no topping intended to become crisp?
