Original recipe makes 1
1/2 cupButter; or margarine, softened
1/2 cupVegetable shortening
3/4 cupSugar
4 eachEgg
1/2 cupGreen chilies; diced
1 1/2 cupCreamed corn; canned
1/2 cupCheddar cheese; shredded
1/2 cupJack cheese; shredded
1 cupFlour
1 cupYellow cornmeal
2 tablespoonBaking Powder
1 teaspoonBaking soda
1 teaspoonSalt

Southwestern Green Chili Corn Bread Preparation

Pre heat oven to 325 F.

1 Blend the butter, shortening and sugar until creamy.

2. Add the eggs one at a time mixing well. Add the remainder of ingredients and mix well.

3. Pur the mixture into a greased 9" square baking pan.

4. Bake at 325F for 50 to 60 minutes or untill firm in the center.

DELICIOUS!!! However... it spilled over the pan like crazy. I would use a bigger one next time. Maybe I used too much baking powder--it says 2 tbsp, is that supposed to be 2 tsp??
