Ingredients

1/4 cup Karo light syrup
1/2 cup Butter
1 cup Brown sugar
5 large Eggs
1 1/2 cups milk
1 teaspoon Vanilla
French bread; sliced

Preparation

Grease a 9 x 13" pan.

In a saucepan, boil corn syrup, butter and brown sugar until brown sugar is dissolved. Pour into bottom of pan. Place French bread slices on top of the syrup. Make sure it is tightly packed. In a separate bowl, mix together eggs, milk and vanilla. Pour over bread. Cover and refrigerate overnite.

The next morning, bake in a preheated 350 F oven for 30 minutes until puffed, brown and egg mixture is fully absorbed. Syrup is on the bottom.
