1 lb.ground chuck
1 tsp.beef bouillon granules; divided
1/4 tsp.black pepper; divided
8 oz.Velveeta cheese; sliced
4 mediumpotatoes; thinly sliced
2 mediumonions; thinly sliced
1/2 cupWater
Paprika

Microwave Hamburger and Potatoes Au Gratin Preparation

Pat beef evenly into botton of a 2 quart microwavable dish. Sprinkle with 1/2 tsp. of the bouillon granules and 1/8 tsp. pepper. Cover with vented heavy-duty plastic wrap. Microwave on HIGH 4-7 minutes, or until no pink remains; drain off all fat.

Place cheese slices over hot meat, then layer with sliced potatoes and onions. Pour water over top, then sprinkle with the remaining bouillon and pepper. Sprinkle top generously with paprika and re-cover with plastic wrap. Microwave on high 19 to 23 minutes, or until potatoes in center of casserole are tender. Cut into squares and serve.

Notes

Note: It is not necessary to peel the potatoes.
