"Amazing!! Excellent!! I used 2 cans 28oz crushed tomatoes instead of the "chopped spaghetti sauce" and followed everything else using only the primary spices and none of the optional *spices and Celery not the carrot. White sugar not brown. I will add a few pork chops next time but this recipe is fantastic, period!! I am so happy it is a large volume recipe because it will be even more amazing after resting and storage. " - LHP_Gourmet

The Ultimate Spaghetti Sauce Preparation

In a large skillet, brown the Ground beef in oil and then drain off access fat (if desired). Add the Onion, Green pepper, Carrot (or celery), Mushrooms, and Garlic and cook for 2 minutes more. Transfer the Ground beef mixture into a large pot and then add all of the remaining ingredients. Stir. Cook on low, partially covered, for about 5 hours, Stirring occasionally. Let the Sauce stand, covered, for about 1/2 an hour and the serve over hot spaghetti. (Freeze leftovers).

*The spices I've placed a star(*) next to are completely optional, add them only if YOU like them. My favorites to add to this sauce are Red pepper, Thyme, Cayenne, Paprika, Sage, and Cinnamon - I usually leave the rest out.

That said if you like your sauce sweet add another 2 tbsp of Sugar, if you like it spicy (i.e not serving it to little kids) add more Chili peppers and red pepper. Experiment!

Made this for a dinner party and its my new go-to recipe. I used all the spices and subbed half the beef for pork. I chopped everything very fine to disguise some ingredients from the picky eaters. It was absolutely phenomenal!!! Can't thank Vodka enough!!!

Soooo good! This is my favorite recipe for meat sauce. I put it in a crockpot after i cooked the meat. I only used italian sausage (mixed sweet and hot), rather than ground beef. I used every herb and spice listed. We loved it!
