These are so addictive, it will be hard to tear your guests away from these.

"Recipe's similar to this one have been circulating for years. These are very good but I remember when I was little my mother would throw parties for her friends and make a similar recipe that called for grape jelly instead of the cranberry sauce. So, I just thought I'd throw that out there for anyone looking to experiment. Try using a different sweet element. I'm thinking of trying blackberry jelly w/ lime juice instead of the lemon juice. Experiment and find what flavor you like best. Have fun!"

Cranberry Cocktail Meatballs Preparation

In a large bowl, combine ground beef, cornflake crumbs, parsley, eggs, ketchup, onion, soy sauce, garlic and pepper. Mix well and form into small balls, from 1/2" to 3/4" in diameter. Place in a large sheetpan in a single layer. Heat oven to 300 F and bake for 30-45 min, depending on the size of the meatballs. Drain grease from pan when done and transfer meatballs to a crockpot..

While meatballs are cooking, combine cranberry sauce, chili sauce, brown sugar and lemon juice in a large sauce pan. Cook stirring over medium heat until smooth. Pour hot sauce over meatballs in the crockpot, stirring occasionally. Keep warm on low in the crockpot until serving time.

Made these for my daughter's birthday party and everyone LOVED them! I used 3.25 lbs of beef so I increased the meatball ingredients by a little more than half and doubled the sauce. I ended up with 196 3/4 inch meatballs (perfect size to pop in your mouth without cutting). while I agree could use frozen, the meatballs were really good and given that the sauce is so easy why cut corners to manage time. Make them ahead and freeze if needed they are much tastier than the frozen ones

I make this recipe w/ Frozen Swedish meatballs ( I personality think it tastes better then the frozen Italian ones w/this sauce) and I only add a jar or chili sauce and a can of cranberry sauce simple easy and delicious!!

In the process of making a double batch, one for book club and one for the family. Does anyone know how well the meatball part freezes?? Thanks!

I've never made meatballs of any kind before. I tried these for a Xmas get together and they were awesome! Everyone kept asking 'Who made the meatballs? They're delicious!' I made a double batch and they were gone in 10-15mins. I'm making them again next week for a UFC Fight night gathering.

I made these for a Christmas get together. I made the mistake of trying the meatballs before I putthe sauce on them and they didn't taste very good. Once the sauce was over them they were excellent! Several people asked for the recipe. I will definitely make these again!

I used frozen Italian meatballs in this recipe for a quick appetizer for a Christmas party. Even those who didn't like cranberry loved this. It was the first to go.

Who would have thought cranberry and chili sauce would go well together? We served these at our Christmas party for our 'family'. Even those of us who didn't like cranberry, loved these. We used frozen, Italian meatballs and it worked out well. The kids didn't care for the sauce, but as I said, they went over very well. Thank you for such a wonderful recipe!
