A rich, chocolate frosting great for those who do not like buttercream or thicker frostings. Also great for Creme Puffs and Eclairs.

2 tbspsButter
1 ounceBaking chocolate; 1 square
1 cupPowdered sugar
1 teaspoonVanilla
2 1/2 tbspsWater; boiling

Shiny Chocolate Frosting Preparation

Melt the butter and chocolate in double boiler. Add powdered sugar and vanilla. Mix until crumbly. Add boiling water and beat until smooth and shiny.

delicious although not as chocolaty as i thought it would be

I really prefer a genache of chocolate and cream but decided to give this a whirl. I found it as far as ingredients go, to be almost a buttercream. The powdered sugar taste and feel was there and aside from being heated tasted much like a buttercream. I am sorry I couldn't rate this higher. I had big hopes for it as it can be a bit less expensive than what I normally would make.
