This sauce came from a good friend's Italian Mother-in-law. It is easy, and by far the best homemade sauce I know of. Great for both Spaghetti and Lasagna. Pssst...the secret is the sugar!

blends , 3 months agoPretty good sauce. I added fresh basil and sage and the flavor is better than I expected.

andrewfawcett , 10 months agoWill try substituting some wine for the sugar next time but great taste overall.
andrewfawcett , 10 months agoNice tasting sauce. Use some Italian sausage and chuck in some wine (reducing the sugar) and take it up a level.
mogriff1 , 1 years agoThis sauce was pretty tasty. I had to add more salt, pepper and garlic because it was a little bland. It was also a little too sweet; next time I will use less sugar.

Tracie255 , 1 years agoThis was easy and really good. I used Italian sausage instead since I had meatballs and it was still killer!

Dsignor1 , 1 years agoNever add meat to your sauce. Meat should be separate with a little sauce. Adding meat completely changes the flavor.
MRMACGU , 1 years agoVery happy with results. A must to try and plenty of options to modify If desired as others mentioned. Thank you.
Glockfan , 2 years agoReally good. I modified it a bit and used Italian sausage, skipped the bell peppers and used crushed whole tomatoes only.
maidinblisscleaning , 2 years agoI usually don't change recipes until after I try it the first time to the letter. This one I just adjusted a few things, I used Italian sausage instead of ground beef, added a can of tomato paste and omitted the parsley (it wasn't in the directions anyhow). To the person who thinks 5 cloves of garlic is too much; it's cloves of garlic, not entire heads of garlic. THIS IS AN AWESOME RECIPE! Thank you so very much!
