I got this from Masa whose father owned a Chinese Restaurant in California. He had also made these dishes at home so these are normal serving sizes.

Original recipe makes 4
14 largeShrimp; shelled and cut in half
1/2 teaspoonSugar
1 teaspoonSoy sauce
1 1/2 teaspoonsCornstarch
1 tablespoonWater
3 tbspsPeanut oil
1/2 teaspoonSalt
1/3 cupChicken broth
1/2 cupWater chestnuts; sliced
1 1/2 cupsSnow peas
1/2 largeOnion; wedged
2 small stalksCelery; sliced 1/4 in thick

Snow Peas with Shrimp Preparation

Mix cornstarch, water, sugar and soy sauce. Heat oil in skillet over high heat. Add salt. Put shrimp in pan and stir fry 1 min (shrimp should be white and pink). Add remaining ingredients except soy mixture. Cover and cook 1 1/2 mins. Stir. Add soy mixture and stir until thick. Serve.
