Old family favorite.
"Used bacon instead of ham, only because I didn't happen to have any ham on hand, but this was a very good quiche Lorraine! Not runny, flavors melded nicely together, cooked beautifully. | 1 cupHam; diced |
| 1/2 poundSwiss cheese; coarsely grated |
| 5 largeEggs; lightly beaten |
| 1 teaspoonSalt |
| 1/8 teaspoonWhite pepper |
| Cayenne pepper |
| 1/8 teaspoonNutmeg |
| 1 3/4 cupsHalf-and-half cream |
| 1 tablespoonButter; melted |
| Ready-made pie shell |
Quiche Lorraine Preparation
Preheat oven to 425 degrees and precook pie shell for 5-7 mintues.
Take out of oven and add remaining ingredients that have been previously combined.
Bake uncovered for 15 minutes at 425 degrees.
Lower oven temperature to 350 degrees; continue baking until firm (approximately 20 more minutes).
