Original recipe makes 24
1 packageGerman Chocolate Cake Mix
1 small canEvaporated milk
1 1/2 sticksButter; very soft, NOT melted
12 ouncesChocolate chips
1 bagCaramels

Caramel Brownies Preparation

Combine cake mix, butter and 1/2 of milk and pat half of this into the bottom of a greased and floured glass pan.

Bake at 375 degrees for 10 minutes.

Meanwhile, unwrap caramels and combine with the rest of the milk in a pan and cook on low heat until melted.

Pour chips over cooked dough; add caramel mixture on top. Then plop the rest of the uncooked dough over the top and bake for 20 minutes or until done.

Cool and refrigerate for about an hour.

Cut BEFORE entirely cold!
