Easy as Pie - Shortcrust Pastry Preparation
1. Sift together the flour and salt. Rub butter into the flour with fingertips until the mixture resembles course breadcrumbs.
2. Mix egg yolk, water and lemon juice into the flour mixture to form a stiff dough. Knead until the dough comes together and is smooth.
3. Wrap in plastic wrap and refigerate until ready to use.
