"This was a success at thanksgiving this year. I did change some things a little. I didn't have whole allspice, but the ground kind so used 1/4 tps, 4 cinnamon sticks, and 2 qt apple cider. I also had rum set aside to keep it non alcoholic and those that wanted it added a little to their glass. Everyone loved it both ways." - Lexx7007

Original recipe makes 8 Servings
1/4 cSugar
Orange slices
2 cOrange juice
7 Cinnamon sticks
1 1/2 tsAllspice; whole
18 Cloves; whole
1/4 cLemon juice
1 1/2 qtApple cider
Lemon slices
2 cVodka or rum (optional)
2 cCranberry juice

Wassail #1 Preparation

Tie cinnamon sticks, cloves and allspice together in cheesecloth. Combine juices and sugar. Simmer 15 minutes with spices. Float fruit slices on top. Remove bag of spices.
