Ready in 25 minutes
Very quick and satifying meal for cool weather. One of our family favorites. Re-heats well.
"Didn't remember to pick up the canned chilies when I got groceries, but had my heart set on trying it and made it anyways. Also didn't have the Anise, have never heard of it and didn't see it on the spice aisle. However, loved how simple it was, and the flavor was excellent. Cheese and sour cream were great add-ins. I didn't mind that it wasn't thick like a traditional chili, I was looking for something soup-like anyways, it's COLD out here this time of year, and this really hit the spot. Thank you!!"- annietuning

Top-ranked recipe named "White Bean Chicken Chili"
Chop onion and garlic. Cut up chicken in to bite size pieces. Saute onions, garlic. cumin, oregano. anise seed and dried red pepper in olive oil for 5 mins. Push aside and add chicken and saute for another 5 minutes.
Add beans (with liquid), broth, chilies and cream, simmer until chicken is tender about 10 mins.
Top with cheese and cilantro.
BigOven Tip: Easily make this ahead of time!
I like to top mine with tortilla chips and a spoonful of "Quicky Salsa" #158336.

pkb1106 1 month agoThis was so good! I did not add the anise as I don't care for it, added some crisp bacon and of course cheese, wonderful and easy to prepare.

admrink 4 months agoSo delicious. I didn't change anything but could have added more spice. Fresh green chili would have been delightful so will certainly make it next Hatch green chile season.
stevemur 4 months agoReally good. I agree with others that it's fairly mild. For some pop, add more cumin, salt and pepper, and diced jalapenos. Delicious, thanks for posting!
Aimeelady 5 months agoCould do with some more flavor its good and I like the anise, you dont get that taste very often in chili for sure. Only thing I was wondering about is when you said 4 large garlic did you mean the whole head or cloves. I did cloves so maybe that was why it seemed kinda bland. Agan not bad.
miltonstokes 5 months agoHearty. Super easy.
Tiffie219 6 months agoIt was delicious. There are so many things you could add.
breid0523 6 months agoI thought it was wonderful and very easy to make. Also left out the anise and the bean liquid for a thicker soup.
jaguglia 7 months agoMy new favorite. If I cook my beans myself I add extra fluid. Have also tried with tomatoes an frozen corn, good add ons!
anglsunawr 10 months agoI used canned chicken instead of the chicken breasts and included the broth in the cans as well. When adding the Cheddar Cheese I didn't feel it was too soupy at all. My whole family loved it and my husband rated it as one of his top favorite things I've made. It was delicious!
jaguglia 11 month agoVery delicious. Subbed plain greek yogurt for cream.

lipkinmg 1 year agoNot bad for 20 minutes effort but chili comes out a little soupy. Needed extra time to simmer and thicken.
