Cinnamon Crumble Coffee Cake

Recipes »  Breakfast  »  Baked Goods

For the past couple of days, I have been dreaming of Entenmann's coffee cakes. I don't know, I just miss them. So I thought I would have a look for a "similar recipe". Yippee - I found one and can not wait to try it out. For those of you who can pick up a genuine Entenmann's and have any knack at matching recipes, please give this a go - I really want to give my kids a taste of home...

"Re: the previous post. This makes perfect sense. Use 5 cups of flour OR use a mixture of flour and Bisquick. Since this recipe requires 5 CUPS, then if using the mix of flour and Bisquick, it means use 2 1/2 cups of flour and 2 1/2 cups of the Bisquick! The recipe author is making reference to "All-purpose," when referring to the flour used in most recipes, including this one. The recipe is PERFECT either way!" - MaureenChapman

Too sweet even with the sugar cut down. Best with blueberries.

Takes some tweaking... Bake at 350 instead of 400. Don't melt the butter and next time I bake this, I'll bake the bottom layer for about 20 minutes before adding the crumble...

Awesome! I really liked this, and so did others. The only thing is that you do need to adjust time and temp to make sure it's done through. I think I did 350 degrees for 45 minutes to an hour. I checked it with a toothpick to be sure. I also topped it with the Powdered Sugar Icing found here on BigOven as well.

This recipy is kinda tricky, cause the cook time and heat is off. Also it depends on what kind of oven you have, good recipy just needs patience and tweeking. It is still good but just have to master it.
