Mussels with Spicy Tomato-Chili Sauce

This is delicious served with a fresh crusty bread to sop up the sauce. Can be served as either an hors d'oevre or as a main course with a salad and plenty of bread.

| 2 tablespoonsVegetable oil |
| 1 Onion; chopped |
| 1/4 cupTomato paste |
| 3 tablespoonsBlack bean garlic sauce |
| 3 tablespoonsJalapeno peppers; seeded, minced |
| 1 14.5-oz canDiced tomatoes with juice |
| 1 cupclam juice; Bottled |
| 2 poundsMussels; scrubbed, debearded |
Mussels with Spicy Tomato-Chili Sauce Preparation
Heat oil in heavy large pot over medium-high heat.
Add onion; saute 5 minutes.
Mix in tomato paste, black bean sauce and jalapenos, then tomatoes and fish stock. Bring to boil.
Add mussels. Cover and cook until mussels open, about 6 mintues (discard any mussels that do not open).
Ladle mussels and tomato mixture into bowls and serve.
