Original recipe makes 6
1 packageYeast
1/4 cupwater; warmed
1 cupcottage cheese
2 tablespoonsHoney
1 1/2 tablespoonsOnion; minced
2 1/2 tablespoonsdill seed
1 teaspoonSalt
1/4 teaspoonBaking soda
1 eachEgg
2 tablespoonsButter
2 1/4 cupsflour, all-purpose

Dilly Casserole Bread Preparation

Soften yeast in warm water. Combine cottage cheese with honey, onion, dill seed, salt, baking soda, egg and butter. Heat till just luke warm. Add the yeast and water mixture. Then add flour gradually, beating well using mixer for first half of flour.

Cover and let rise till light and doubled.

Punch down and turn into a large, greased loaf pan, or two small pans. Let rise in a warm place till it's just topping the pan(s). (will continue to rise an additional amount during baking)

Bake at 350 degrees for 40-50 minutes.

Remove from oven when golden brown and brush with butter.

Notes

Variations: Substitute caraway seeds for dill, and 1/2 cup of rye flour for all purpose flour.
