Recipes »  Desserts  »  Cakes

This is my husband and father-in-law's favorite cake. It has a fresh, made from scratch, taste and texture. It's also very easy to make and a pretty cake to take to get togethers.

"my Granny used to make this cake. It is one of my favorites and since my Granny has passed on it is a great reminder of her.I have the cake plate she used to serve it on and now I serve it on it also." - Benita1

1 small boxLemon jello
2 teaspoonsLemon extract
3/4 cupVegetable oil
3/4 cupApricot nectar
4 Eggs
1 cupPowdered sugar

While cake is baking, mix the lemon juice and powdered sugar in a small mixing bowl to make a glaze. Cool the cake in the pan for about 10 minutes and then turn out onto plate and then turn onto another plate to place the cake right-side-up. Poke holes in the top of the cake and drizzle the glaze over it.

This is a cake my family's been making for years! It's absolutely wonderful. Everyone I've ever made it for has loved it and even requested this cake for special occasions. A true crowd pleaser. :D

Thank you for a very nice and quick cake that my D/D (10) can make. :) She made it for her Aunty's birthday, and not a crumb was left.

Very moist! You can't tell the there is a cake mix in it. Tastes like you made it from scratch.
