Used a bit of vanilla and was careful to beat eggs to some froth. I did cut the sugar by an eighth of a cup, maybe a bit more. Came out deliciously light.

A little to sweet, glad I added a half cup buttermilk and a little vanilla. Used 1 1/2 cups regular milk. Lovely texture.

Easy to make. Next time I will add vanilla extract.

The sweetness was fine, I feel like it tasted to much like an egg.

This was great! Did use a bit less sugar, but it was perfect! Need lots more of these easy, quick dishes.....

This pie came out pretty badly. It had to bake for an hour and 30 minutes, and even then it wasn't solid in the middle. My patience gave and I brought it put. This recipe makes it extremely sweet but the nutmeg gives it a good rich flavor. I definitely recommend less sugar and not too much nutmeg, maybe 1/3 teaspoon instead.

I follow some suggestion of the reader below me. I added the vanilla extract, and instead of using 2 cups of milk, i mixed with 15oz of evaporated milk. since i don't like mine too sweet, i reduce the sugar to 3/4 cup. it taste so delicious! thanks

A very similar, yet simpler, version of the custard pie my material Grandma used to make. This recipe did not disappoint! It was really easy to make and tasted wonderful, albeit a little sweet. I did, however, alter the recipe slightly by using one small can (5 ounces) evaporated milk and then adding enough whole milk to equal two cups, I added maybe a teaspoon of pure vanilla extract, and I fit strips of aluminum foil around the pie edge to prevent overbrowning. It was great served as is...however, I like it served warmed up with whipped cream and a dash more of freshly grated nutmeg on top. Next time, I will probably reduce the sugar by about an eighth to a quarter cup.

This was the easiest pie I have ever made, and one of the best. It reminded me of one my mother used to make when I was a kid. MY husband liked it so much he wanted me to make another as soon as we finished the first. He said he could eat the whole pie by himself.

This was very nice. I think I might use just a bit less sugar next time, as it was very sweet.
I made two of these. One was for me, and one for my next door neighbor, and she wiped hers out....... or rather, her son did. They really liked it too.
