Delicious! Prepare it the day before you cook it and refrigerate overnight for an easy meal on a busy day.
"A crock pot winner! Exactly what a crock pot recipe should be -- stick all the ingredients in at the same time, minimal fuss with seasonings, and come home after work to a fragrant house and a delicious supper! The only change I made was to add a couple parsnips, cut into thirds, and a rutabaga, cut into eighths. The roast was fork tender and absolutely delicious, the vegetables were most flavorful. Simply, great comfort food."- sgrishka

seablue 8 months agoThis was my first attempt at a pot roast and I was really looking for a roast that fell apart as I put my fork into it. I wasn't quite sure that was going to be achieved with the amount of water the recipe called for, so I just filled the crock pot till it covered the roast. I added the whole packet of Lipton onion soup mix. I started it in the in the evening so that I could have it the next night and let it cook overnight. I'm glad I cooked it for nearly 24 hours because it took that long for the cut of chuck roast that I chose to to get to that 'fall apart' stage. I was very pleased with this recipe for providing me with the basics and I'm looking forward to building upon this recipe.

jlpalacios89 1 year agoI'm making this tomorrow and am confused about the water measurement lol (not much of a cooker) so I don't know...haha I would think there would be more water? 7/32 seems like a tiny amount! Help!

Riftek 1 year agoThis was the blandest roast I've ever had. The flavors were not pleasant. Made me question if I even like roasts, but then had a very good one at a holiday get together. Would not recommend this recipe.
