Ready in 45 minutes
This is definately a set it and forget it meal. It was ready to eat when I got home from work.
"This is so incredibly yummy! I rubbed it with olive oil, seasoned it inside and out with Montreal steak seasoning and stuffed it with whole garlic cloves, chopped onion, celery, and lemon (with the skin). I also cooked it breast side down on top of the foil balls on high, all day long (about 10 hours) as the recipe directs. DEE-LISH! The only thing that I would do differently would be to brine the bird for a short time before cooking in the crock pot. Everyone should try this one!"- jfcconsulting

You can get a rotisserie-style chicken by cooking it in your crockpot. Take aluminum foil and make balls that are about 1-inch in diameter. Place them in the bottom of the crockpot. Clean and season your chicken any way you want. Then place the chicken on top of the aluminum foil balls. Cook on high all day. By placing the chicken on top of the balls, the chicken stays out of the juices which will make it like a rotisserie chicken. My family loves it! I usually season it with McCormick Grill Mates Montreal Chicken seasoning.
With the tin foil balls this came out just like in the oven but was jucier!

LizMartin1530 1 year agoThis was so good! So moist and fall the bone juicy. I rubbed it with olive oil and seasoned with a mix of cajun and herb and garlic spices. I cooked it breast side down and left it on high for about 6 hours. I'll for sure be making this again.
Sandi07 1 year agoThis recipe is awful. If you're expecting a nice roasted chicken in the middle of the summer, you will be sorely disappointed. I followed the directions and stuffed the chicken with onions and garlic and cooked in the slow cooker on high for 4 hours, and then turned it down to low for the next 3 hours. All this time I was waiting for it to brown up and have a nice crusty outside; it never happened. I would have done better by putting this in the oven. If you're looking for a true roasted chicken recipe, this is not it. I will not make this again.
Rottendrew 1 year agodelicious and easy used 4 flat clean stones too keep it off the bottom removed the grease and made gravy with bisto over mash potatoes and steamed carrots shorted cooking time to 4 and a half hours

Cheryl2d 1 year agoI tried today and used the foil method and thought that was a great idea. I don't know what I do wrong but I could not cook a chicken in the crock pot all day without it being dry. I did 2 on high and 2 on low and that still made it dry. I will make again but adjust cooking time.

Beachbumette 6 years agoI read a similar recipe and in that recipe, you rubbed the chicken with olive oil before seasoning and I think you only cooked it about 6 hours. Rubbing the chicken with some type of fat would help to keep it moist.
Beachbumette 6 years agoI trimmed the fat/skin from the back and around the cavity and stuffed the cavity with celery and onion. I used the Montreal Chicken seasoning all over the top. It was a little bit dry - I think all day on high is a little long and next time, I'll try it all day on the low setting of the crockpot, but it's very good - a keeper!
hanan@home 6 years agoEasy and delicious! Can't beat this for an end to a busy summer day when your energy is gone.I rubbed it with olive oil and cooked it on low for 7 hours.
