Tart Apple Compote

| 1 largeGranny Smith Apple; - chopped fine or shredded |
| 1 teaspoonSplenda; -- to taste |
| 1 tablespoonLemon juice; -- to taste |
| 1 dashSalt |
| 1/4 teaspoonCinnamon; - to taste |
| 2 tablespoonsWater; -- if needed |
Tart Apple Compote Preparation
Mix ingredient (except water) in a small saucepan. Cook over low heat until apples are very soft. Add water as needed to make a thick sauce consistancy.
I served this on fried sauerkraut cakes with some smoked pork loin. It was a big hit.
Each (app 2 Tbs) serving contains an estimated:

SatFat: 0g, PolyFat: 0g, MonoFat: 0g
Chol: 0mg, Na: 194mg, K: 33mg
TotCarbs: 4g, Fiber: 1g, Sugars: 3g

This was just something that I invented because I was out of applesauce. It was way better then the "jar" version.
