1 largeGranny Smith Apple; - chopped fine or shredded
1 teaspoonSplenda; -- to taste
1 tablespoonLemon juice; -- to taste
1 dashSalt
1/4 teaspoonCinnamon; - to taste
2 tablespoonsWater; -- if needed

Tart Apple Compote Preparation

Mix ingredient (except water) in a small saucepan. Cook over low heat until apples are very soft. Add water as needed to make a thick sauce consistancy.

I served this on fried sauerkraut cakes with some smoked pork loin. It was a big hit.

Each (app 2 Tbs) serving contains an estimated:

This was just something that I invented because I was out of applesauce. It was way better then the "jar" version.
