Very lemony, very tasty and very easy to make. My mother once won a contest with her Glazed Lemon Bread recipe. It's a wonderfully moist bread, saturated with lemony flavor, that's great for breakfast, as a dessert or just as a snack. I prefer my mother's recipe over other lemon bread recipes because the glaze is allowed to saturate the bread all the way through...also, heating the glaze to melt the sugar helps it go on smoothly, unlike the usual method which is "grainy" from unmelted sugar.

snazzyllama , 2 years agoIt was so delicious! My glaze didn't look all white and glaze-y though so I'm not sure what I did wrong. But it tasted awesome! I even made it into cupcakes also

sunnygal , 2 years agoJust finished making this recipe and of course I had to sample. It was wonderful, sweet and tart. I was looking for a different recipe from the standard holiday recipes and this is it! Plan on making 5 more loaves to give for the holidays.

TaraCakeBaker , 2 years agoYummy! ^ ^ and about the glaze, I added less sugar, added a little honey, and lemon extract plus juice, came out as a kind of hard chewy candy top but to me it contrasts nicely with the moist lemony bread, and thanks for the reviews y'all, I went with a tsp of baking powder instead and it was perfect

sarahbradley , 2 years agoI made this without reading older reviews about reducing the baking powder and it came out great for me, also used 1/2 cup Splenda/sugar baking blend and it tastes great! The glaze is sweet and tart but refreshing! tart but
