Combine all ingredients in a heavy non-reactive saucepan over medium high heat. Bring to a boil. Immediately reduce heat to low. Simmer 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until apples are very soft. Transfer apple mixture to a food processor or blender and purée.
ginahobbs 1 year agoI used honey crisp apples and added a touch of cardamom, vanilla, and mixed white and brown sugar. I used an immersion blender and left a few chunks. Served over grilled pork chops. OMG...delish!!!
Worker62 2 years agoGreat recipe. Nice and easy. We used honey crisp apples. Nice and tart and also added a touch of cardamom and mace spices. I think I need to make bigger batches. This one disappeared off the stove.

leahkenyon 2 years agoDid not peel apples, just cored. Boiled in plain water for 13 mins. Then I put apples in the blender with the sugar, cinnamon, and 1/3 cup orange juice. Blended until smooth. Delicious!
