This cake is very moist and is not sweet. Great Presentation for company too!
"This cake was so good!! I usually like sweet cakes, but this is my new favorite. Everyone loved it! Instead of putting the cool whip on it I put in in a separate bowl so whoever had a slice could put as much as they want on it. Will make again! But my ricotta did not go to the bottom, it was a marbled cake. "- bricaley

sweetdeesdesserts 6 months agoHow much ricotta is needed, I would love to make and the exact amount is missing from your post.
AuntieVwoca 11 month agoI did something wrong because my ricotta did no it go to the bottom. It looked marbled and I could see where in some places it went down a bit so I flipped it and served it upside down so it looked like yours. I wonder where I went wrong? It still tasted very good and I will attempt again.

Love7721 2 years agomade this last night. It was very good. It is not that sweet at all. Not very rich as you would think. If it didn't have the pudding mixture on top, I think it wouldnt be as good. I will definitely make this again. Pretty cool watching the chocolate envelope the ricotta cheese mixture while backing. I'm assuming that you would have to refrigerate the cake after cooling? They way I served it was not to ice the cake with the pudding mixture after cooling, I just put a dollop on top of each pieced served.

pamcastle 3 years agoRemember, when you pour the ricotta cheese mixture on top of the cake mixture, while baking, the ricotta cheese mixture will settle on the bottom. The picture is the actual cake I baked and is simply a hit everytime I make it. Very light tasting too!!
susieluvs2cook 3 years agoI have frozen the cake. It can get too moist when frozen with the topping. I think I'd freeze it without the topping and add it as the cake thaws.
susieluvs2cook 3 years agoI've been making this cake for years and it's always a hit! It's the only cake my son requests.

Emmy1807 3 years agoSo delicious and moist. I love it cold! The ricotta mixture on top somehow sinks to the bottom while it bakes. Very interesting!!

Jenlovemuffin 4 years agoThe picture shows the ricotta filling on the bottom of the cake. But it says to put it on the top??
