|3/4 cupsoft butter; (170 grams)|
|3/4 cuppowdered sugar; (90 grams)|
|1 egg; (58 grams)|
|1 teaspoonvanilla; (4 grams)|
|2 teaspoonspeppermint extract; (9 grams)|
|1/4 teaspoonsalt; (2 grams)|
|1 teaspoongreen food coloring or red food coloring; (paste colouring gives a deep shade)|
|1 3/4 cupsflour; (219 grams)|
|30 chocolate Hershey's chocolate kisses or chocolate; (139 grams)|
Peppermint Christmas Cookies Preparation
Cream together butter, sugar, egg, vanilla, and salt.
Add coloring and mix well to distribute color evenly.
Stir in flour.
Shape in 1 inch balls.
Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
Flatten each by pressing a chocolate in each center.
Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes, or until bottom starts to brown.
