Billy's Bar-b-que (Crockpot Venison)

Recipes »  Main Dish  »  Grill and BBQ

This is an excellent way to serve up any form of venison or other meat.

"I added 2 TBS of red wine vinegar and 1 tsp of Tiger Sauce (a sort of hot sauce) to add a piquant flavor to it. I love crockpot recipes so this was easy and convenient." - amiehartnett

Servings
Original recipe makes 8
1 cupBarbecue Sauce; Sweet Baby Ray's recommended
2 tablespoonsHoney
2 tablespoonsFlour
1 tablespoonSoy sauce
2 poundsVenison; in bite size chunks
2 tablespoonsBrown sugar

Billy's Bar-b-que (Crockpot Venison) Preparation

Mix sauce ingredients in slow cooker pot then add venison. Cook on high for 4 - 5 hours or low for 8 - 10 hours. Test for tenderness as needed.

You can serve it with Stove Top Stuffing or Minute Rice. It is also good over a thick slice of homemade bread or plain with rye bread and butter.

Vegetables (corn, carrots, or green beans) are optional.

Notes

I'm not sure who Billy is. The recipe was in my brother-in-law's files and he makes it often. The sauce was a bit sweet for my taste but others thought it was just right. You could use a spicier version of BBQ sauce if that suites your tastes.

Easy. Really sweet; will probably add some spice next time. Smells wonderful. We added garlic, onions, and carrots and served it over smashed potatoes.

Quick, easy recipe. I added Siracha sauce and A1 to it, and served it over rice.
