Heat oven to 375?. Place apples in 8 or 9 inch square pan. Sprinkle with lemon juice and water. In small bowl, combine remaining ingredients until crumbly, and sprinkle over apples. Bake 40-45 minutes or until apples are tender.

Valmarie 3 years agoMissing the sugar from the recipe. Add 1/2 -3/4 cup brown sugar to the topping!! Then it won't be bland!!!!!!!
DaNana1 3 years agoThis is the blandest tasting crisp I've ever tasted. The apples need a little spice. The topping did not crisp up either. I will make this again but with a few more spices to give it a little zing.

Mrs.Mumm89 3 years agoThis was so easy to make! My fiancé loves apple crisp, but I just couldn't ever seem to get it right until I found this recipe. Thanks!
sgrishka 4 years agoApple Crisp is one of the most satisfying of simple desserts. I made this basic apple crisp recipe yesterday with the help of the little ones and everyone loved the making as much as the eating! We used an assortment of Granny Smith, Rome and Winesap apples...the selection that the kids brought. As for changes, we buttered the baking pan and before adding the apples, tossed them with a spice mix consisting of a teaspoon of cinnamon, a tablespoon of brown sugar, a pinch of salt and two pinches of freshly grated nutmeg. We also added another pinch of salt and another couple pinches of freshly grated nutmeg to the topping mixture. The crisp turned out delicious!
