A easy, quick one-dish meal that even kids enjoy
"Just made this tonight for dinner. My children and husband loved it. I really should've made more LOL. I cut up different bell peppers and used chicken stock instead of a cube, it worked perfect. I also added some crushed red pepper seeds since we love things spicy. I will definitely be making this again. ;)"- lizlombardo7

sharireland 1 month agoI love the simplicity of this, it was a bit too sweet for my taste but I will try it again and next time I will try pasatta instead of the ketchup and omit the sugar.
lamarisf79 4 months agoGreat and family liked it! No additional sugar added and still found it a bit sweet. Good all around though! Thanks for posting.

trueblue37 9 months agoJust ok. Husband not crazy about sausage in general and I didn't think this had much flavor - didn't do much to change his mind. Bummer.

allisonbaehr 1 year agoHad it tonight, hubby and I loved it. It was a little spicy for my 3 yr old, even though I used mild sausage. I listened to reviews and didn't add the extra sugar.

aurora_odet 1 year agoNot good. Way too sugary. Smelled delicious though. Maybe use only the ketchup and no sugar (the ketchup has plenty sugar) and less oregano?
Infamous2678 1 year agoI just wanted to try something new. I made it and everyone loved it. thank you for that recipe.
Tishaj1 2 years agoNot a favorite of mine. It is very easy to make but the flavor of the rice just didn't do it for me. My husband seemed to like it though.
MommaFischer 2 years agoI've made this s couple of times now. I added different veggies each time plus different types of sausage. I also added garlic, used low sodium organic chicken broth and omitted extra sugar. It was a hit in my house of picky boys!
cajunlover311 3 years agoWas very good but i think the ketchup has enough sugar in it next time i'll leave out the extra sugar.
CookingB1983 3 years agoTasty! Also added kidney beans and it was yummy! X
Nanocat86 4 years agoI've made this a few times now and I still love it! I prefer a cheese sausage since I don't like spicy foods but it works with any sausage. I usually add a little extra water, maybe a 1/4 cup or so. It's very easy and warms up well.
sahmlomano 5 years agoI made this tonight for the first time. Added a can of rinsed and drained red kidney beans to it; used Basmati rice (soaked it while the sausage cooked). Worked wonderfully. Sprinkled shredded cheddar cheese over each serving; may try Parmesan or mozzarella next time. Quick, easy. Served with bread and butter, though a salad would go well, too. Anyway, we sat down for dinner and my husband said, 'Have we had this before? This is really tasty!' Definitely will make again. Thanks!
