A traditional New England side dish
Preheat oven to 375. Cut squashes in half, scoop out seeds. Place, cut side up, in baking dish. Divide remaining ingredients equally in squash halves. Pour one cup water into dish and bake 50 mins or till fork tender. Baste with syrup several times during cooking. Drain off water and serve.
