adapted from a recipe, about 1989; our family loves these raisin scones...often the ones you buy in a bakery are too sweet
"We enjoyed these raisin scones; they were easy to make and delicious! I used a very good quality, ice cold, unsalted butter (good butter is what makes them flaky, moist and oh, so good). Also, for our families tastes, we didn't think that amount of raisins in the recipe was nearly enough...so we almost doubled the amount of raisins, plump them in boiling water for a few minutes, drained them and patted them dry before adding to the recipe. The scones turned out beautifully, tender and crisp, not overly sweet but had a nice delicate flavor." - sgrishkaYield: 8 Ready in 30 minutes
