For a lower fat version, use ground turkey instead of beef.

Original recipe makes 6
1 poundLean Ground Beef
1/2 cupOnion; diced
2 cloveGarlic; minced
1 cupTomato sauce
1/2 cupWater
1 cupTomato; diced
1 tablespoonYellow mustard
2 tablespoonWorcestershire Sauce
1/4 teaspoonSalt; optional
1/2 teaspoonBlack Pepper; freshly ground
6 eachWhole wheat hamburger buns

Sloppy Joes Preparation

1. In a large skillet, cook ground beef over medium high heat for approximately 5 minutes. Drain fat.

2. Add onions and cook for 3 minutes or until onions begin to turn clear. Add garlic and cook 1 more minute.

3. Add remaining ingredients except buns and simmer for 10 minutes.

4. Serve on whole-wheat buns.

I followed KT's suggestion and made them with ground turkey. I also added a bit of shredded carrot to increase the fiber content. Served on wholegrain buns they were delicious AND healthy.
