This was fabulous! Easy and quick. The glaze is a cinch but I might make more next time because it is so good.

Simple & quick to make, the glaze was good, i would recommend fresh lemon juice. Good for spring.

This is a great all purpose cake. In my family, we even use it as a birthday cake. In the summer there is nothing better on a hot day than to pull a piece out of the freezer and eat it. We too had lost the recipe until my sister happened on it in an old cook book she got from our Mom after she passed. We often make it with a white cake mix. It is very hard to not get a wonderful simple cake.

I'm so glad I found this! I used to make this cake with my grandmother (now passed) and have misplaced the recipe. I remembered the ingredients but not the quantity. This was a favorite of my grandfathers and we used to make it all the time for him. Thank you so much for posting this! I thought I had lost it for good!

My grandmother and mom made this cake will I was a child. This is one of my favorite cakes. I made it for my kids and my grandson.... and my wife. The only change I make to it is I substitute maybe strawberry cake and strawberry or rasberry jello. Very good. I have one in the oven right now!
