Wish I could include a photo of my 19# head of cabbage from my garden. Triple the recipe and just use 1/2 of the head. Very good recipe!

This is *exactly* the same as the KFC Cole Slaw recipe in The Treasury of Top Secret Recipes cookbook by Todd Wilbur (copyright 1993). I should know because I have made this recipe for years after discovering it in that cookbook. It is a great coleslaw recipe which is hugely popular in my family, when I serve it to guests, or when I bring it to a pot luck. It's also delicious with either pineapple chunks or drained, crushed pineapple added.

Since I don't often use buttermilk other than when I purchase it for this recipe, I make a large batch of the dressing and freeze it in smaller portions to use later. Then, when I want coleslaw, I don't have to worry about having buttermilk on hand. I just defrost a small container of frozen dressing, chop the vegetables, and I'm ready to go.
