Original recipe makes 1
1 1/2 ouncesMagellan gin
1 dropSimple syrup
1/2 Juice of a lime
1/2 Juice of a grapefruit
2 dashesPeychaud's bitters
Lime Juice; for garnish
Salt; coarse for garnish

Salt and Pepper Cocktail Preparation

Rim a martini glass with lime juice and coarse salt

Add the gin, simple syrup, juices of 1/2 fresh lime and 1/2 fresh grapefruit to a shaker of ice.

Shake and strain into glass.

Notes

With the blue-tinted French iris gin and the Peychaud bitters, the Salt & Pepper comes out an odd greyish color, but the taste makes a refreshing change from overly sweet margaritas in the summer.
