rich custard pie
preheat oven to 325. Line pie pan with crust. Combine the butter, sugar, 1/2 cup of the cream, eggs and vanilla in a large bowl and stir until well blended. Don't beat. Pour the custard into the pie shell and bake for about 35 minutes, or until the custard has set. Large golden bubbles will form on the top whenit is done. Remove frome the oven and cool. Warm the remaining cup of cream. Serve small wedges of pie and pour the warm cream over each serving.
