"Very good bread and easy to make! Everybody loved it! I think next time I will add 1 1/2 cups of strawberries just because I like my bread with lots of fruit! I didn't add the nuts this time and it was an excellent! Definite make again recipe!" - TaffyB

1 3/4 cupsFlour
1/2 teaspoonBaking Powder
1/4 teaspoonBaking soda
1/2 teaspoonSalt
1/4 teaspoonCinnamon
1/2 cupbutter; softened
3/4 cupSugar
1/4 cuplight brown sugar; (use if you want a sweeter bread)
2 egg; room temperature
1/2 cupsour cream; room temperature
1 teaspoonVanilla
1 1/4 cupsstrawberry; fresh & coarsely chopped (do NOT use frozen) or fresh blueberri
3/4 cupwalnut; (optional)

Strawberries & Cream Bread (strawberry Or Blueberry) Preparation

1Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt and cinnamon; set aside.

2In small bowl, beat butter until creamy. Gradually add sugar, beat 1 minute or until light and airy. Add brown sugar. Beat in eggs, one at a time. Beat in sour cream and vanilla.

3Stir into flour mixture only until dry ingredients are moistened.

4Fold in strawberries and nuts.

5Pour into a greased 8 x 4 inch loaf pan.

6Bake at 350F for 60 to 65 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.

7Let stand 10 minutes in pan.

8Turn out on rack to cool.

Very good bread. I made it with frozen blueberries- rinsed them in warm water and patted dry with paper towel. Worked just fine. Also used 1/2 whole wheat for the flour. Recipe definitely a keeper.
