Cuban Picadillo

Cuban Picadillo

Ready in 30 minutes

Serve with white rice

"This was very good. I used turkey instead of beef and served it over rice with wheat tortillas. I found it a little bland with recipe as is, so i added a little cumin to mine for a little extra flavor. This is definitely an easy weeknight go to recipe!"

Ingredients

Are you making this?
1 pound Extra lean ground beef
1 large onion; chopped
2 cloves Garlic; chopped
1 small can tomato sauce
1/4 cup Dry white wine
Pimento stuffed olives
Golden raisins
Salt
Pepper

Original recipe makes 5

Servings

Preparation

In a large skillet, brown the ground meat, onions, and garlic. If meat is not too lean, pour out whatever you render.

Turn heat down to medium-low. Add the tomato sauce and wine. While it simmers, chop up the pimiento stuffed olives and add to meat mixture. Add the rainsins and adjust the seasonings.

I like mine a little dry, not soupy. If you like it soupy, add more wine or tomato sauce.

Notes

I love everything about this dish! You can also substitute beef for ground turkey.
