A delicious way to use and preserve not so perfect pears and apples.

Original recipe makes 24
8 pears red or green organic; straight from the tree
8 apples; tasty organic peel and cut out any bad spot
2 cupsrice vinegar
1 cupraisins; or other dried fruit
1 cupmaple syrup
4 tablespoongingerroot; fresh or frozen, peeled and chopped
2 teaspoonsmustard seeds
1 teaspooncinnamon
1 smallhot pepper; chopped very fine

Maple Pear Apple Chutney Preparation

In a stainless steel or other pot bring the vinegar and maple syrup to a boit. Add everything else, and simmer for 45 minutes or until thick. Put in sterilized jars and seal.

It was delicious warm too, straight from the cooking pot. Good on ice cream, or chutney is good on top of a cracker with a mild goat or cream
cheese. [I posted this recipe.]
