Swiss Steak
Original recipe makes 4
| 1 1/2 poundsRound Steaks |
| 3 tablespoonsFlour |
| 2 tablespoonVegetable oil |
| salt and pepper; to taste |
| 1 14.5-oz canTomatoes; Diced |
| 1/2 cupOnion; diced |
| 2 tablespoonRed wine |
| 1/4 cupCelery; diced |
| 2 tablespoonsWorcestershire Sauce |
| 2 tablespoonBrown sugar |
| 1 small jar (4 oz)Mushrooms; sliced |
| 2 teaspoonsOregano |
| 1 teaspoonPaprika |
| 1/4 cupPepper; slices (red and/or yellow) |
| 1 Bay leaf |
Swiss Steak Preparation
Dredge steaks in flour and brown in hot oil
Place steaks in the slow cooker
Top with tomatos (in juice), onion, mushrooms, and peppers
Mix together remaining ingredients
Pour mixture over steaks.
Cook for 6 hours on low or 4 hours on high
Remove bay leaf
