This chili with beans and meat recipe is a favorite in our house, and can be seasoned to taste to create a mildly flavored dish or one that is extra hot for those who enjoy some additional spice. As is, this chili is not too spicy but has just enough kick and the ingredients that go into it, give it teriffic depth of flavor.

mogriff1 , 11 months agoVery good! I used ground turkey added a hint of white and brown sugars. We ate over rice and topped with shredded cheddar cheese. Will definatley make this again!

savannahchase , 12 months agoFantastic and easyrecipe to make. I used orange and yellow pepers instead but everything else I did as in the recipie. Put in a little extra chillie powder and red pepper flakes for an extra kick.

jo3710 , 1 years agoMy tweaks were ground turkey instead of beef, pintos instead of kidney beans, and omitted cayenne and red chilies. It had a nice sweet flavor. Such an awesome base that it tasted great WHILE it was cooking. I can't wait to taste it in a day or two!!! I will definitely make it again
Susan47 , 1 years agoMy daughter says that I'm a good "recipe follower". I rarely make changes to a recipe. This is my Go-To Chili recipe as written...just the right heat for everyone, even my "put hot sauce on everything" son-in-law.

Surfcow , 1 years agoExcellent recipe! I made a meatier variation with lean stew meat, beef sausage, lean ground beef and bacon. Also, substituted can of black beans for kidney beans. Very flavorful.
danwblevinator , 1 years agoTweaked the spices a little bit, extra tablespoon of chili powder and doubled up on the pepper flakes and cayenne then and added a small can of bushes baked beans. This recipe is delicious.
MammaRaz , 1 years agoGreat! I tripled the recipe for a large crowd and it was a huge hit. The only thing I would have changed, is I wish I had made it the day before...to give the flavors time to meld even more.
