Michelle Obama's Shortbread Cookies

Recipes »  Desserts  »  Cookies and Bars

The recipe comes courtesy of Mama Kaye, the godmother of both Obama daughters. Orange and lemon zest gives the squares plenty of citrus zing.

"These shortbread cookies were terrific...they looked super, smelled awesome, and their taste was simply divine! The dough was quite easy to make. At first I was somewhat concerned at how dry and crumbly it was, but it came together nicely after a little more mixing. We baked it on the specified pan using a silpad. We found it quite easy to transfer the shortbread to a cutting board to slice into individual squares." - sgrishka
