Original recipe makes 4
| 2 tablespoonsoil |
| 1 tablespoongarlic; minced |
| 1 smallonion; chopped |
| 1 mediumtomato; chopped |
| 1 lbground beef |
| 3 tablespoonsSoy sauce |
| 1/4 cupraisins |
| 1/2 teaspoonSalt |
| 1/4 teaspoonpepper |
| 1 cupsweet peas; (optional) |
| 1 cuppotatoes; cubed (optional) |
| 3 ripe plantain bananas; sliced and fried in oil |
| 4 Eggs; cooked sunny side up |
| 4 cupsRice; cooked |
Arroz a la Cubana Preparation
1. In a pan, heat 3 tablespoons oil and saute garlic until light brown. Add onions and cook until transparent. Add tomatoes and cook for 5 minutes. Stir in ground beef and soy sauce. Add potatoes. Cook until meat is brown. Add raisins, salt and pepper and stir constantly. Add peas and simmer for another 5 minutes.
2. In a large serving platter, arrange cooked rice with meat in the center. Top with fried eggs and surround side of platter with fried bananas.
