Servings
Original recipe makes 8
2 lbschicken breasts; cut in bite-size pieces
1 tbspolive oil; (up to 2 tbsp)
Sauce:
1 clovegarlic; crushed
1/4 tspginger
1/2 tspcrushed red pepper flakes
1/4 cupapple juice
1/3 cuplight brown sugar
2 tbspketchup
1/2 tbspcider vinegar
1/2 cupwater
1/3 cupsoy sauce

Bourbon Chicken Preparation

1. Heat oil in large skillet.

2. Add chicken pieces; stir-fry until lightly browned.

3. Remove chicken.

4. Mix together remaining ingredients; stir into skillet and heat

over medium heat until well mixed and sugar is dissolved.

5. Return chicken to skillet and bring to a hard boil.

6. Reduce heat to slow simmer and cook approx. 20 min. or

until chicken is tender.

7. If necessary, thicken sauce with slurry of 3/4 T. cornstarch

and 3/4 T. water.

7. Serve over hot rice and ENJOY!!!!!

(Next time, I'm going to use boneless thighs and double the sauce recipe. If making for just you and AJ, you can reduce the amount of chicken and keep the sauce the same.)

this is a family favorite. A little more red pepper flakes for a spicier dish.

I made this last night, it was nothing like I expected. It was entirely too spicy, so I had to make something separate for my 4 yr old daughter. My husband wouldn't eat it. All in all a fail. I love bourbon chicken and so does everyone I know...This is not bourbon chicken!!! Its more like General Tso's chicken from a Chinese restaurant.

great recipe for the sauce, i modified it.. u can use teriyaki instead of soy. also add some honey smoke bbq sauce to the sauce and it makes it crazy good. can use roasted garlic paste too or garlic powder.

Liked the flavor but next time I will double the sauce. I did need to thicken it with cornstarch. Had it over white rice.

Should've paid attention to picture not matching as well, tasted wierd and not very good. I was looking for something drier, not in a wet sauce, like in the picture!
