Ready in 40 minutes
"great recipe for the sauce, i modified it.. u can use teriyaki instead of soy. also add some honey smoke bbq sauce to the sauce and it makes it crazy good. can use roasted garlic paste too or garlic powder."- good_shepherd
1. Heat oil in large skillet.
2. Add chicken pieces; stir-fry until lightly browned.
3. Remove chicken.
4. Mix together remaining ingredients; stir into skillet and heat
over medium heat until well mixed and sugar is dissolved.
5. Return chicken to skillet and bring to a hard boil.
6. Reduce heat to slow simmer and cook approx. 20 min. or
until chicken is tender.
7. If necessary, thicken sauce with slurry of 3/4 T. cornstarch
and 3/4 T. water.
7. Serve over hot rice and ENJOY!!!!!
(Next time, I'm going to use boneless thighs and double the sauce recipe. If making for just you and AJ, you can reduce the amount of chicken and keep the sauce the same.)

kelly62cooking 1 year agothis is a family favorite. A little more red pepper flakes for a spicier dish.
brandyshiverdeckergrassmann 1 year agoI made this last night, it was nothing like I expected. It was entirely too spicy, so I had to make something separate for my 4 yr old daughter. My husband wouldn't eat it. All in all a fail. I love bourbon chicken and so does everyone I know...This is not bourbon chicken!!! Its more like General Tso's chicken from a Chinese restaurant.

tomonthewater 1 year agoLiked the flavor but next time I will double the sauce. I did need to thicken it with cornstarch. Had it over white rice.
ThePuck 2 years agoShould've paid attention to picture not matching as well, tasted wierd and not very good. I was looking for something drier, not in a wet sauce, like in the picture!
MinnaPepina 2 years agomade this again, doubling the cornstarch, but I think its still lacking in something..
ZeroTheHero 2 years agono bourbon? Could use more sause maybe. Won't make anymore.

1CookingDiva007 2 years agoWas tasty, but it felt like something was missing.
MinnaPepina 2 years agowould be fine except for the runny sauce, the suggested amount of cornstarch is too much in my book, to thicken it.
KCKramp 2 years agoLove this recipe. Thought it had great flavors. We will certainly make it again.
Firebyrd 2 years agoA direct copy of my Bourbon chicken recipe except: 1)There are 2 step 7's (lol), 2)This is not your photo (How do I know? As I said, I posted the original and it simply doesn't make a coating like that. Where's the sauce? Where are the bite-sized pieces they chopped the chicken into?)
