Creamy Smoked Turkey and Wild Rice Soup
Recipes » Soups, Stews and Chili » Meat and Poultry
This soup is hearty and healthy. It has approximately 200 calories per cup of soup, but definitely doesn't taste like diet food! This recipe is favorite in my house.
"Ok, I tweaked this a little. We didn't have any wild rice, so I threw in about 4 small red potatoes, added two bay leaves and made it gluten free by adding a 1/2 cup of heavy cream instead of the milk and flour. We also topped it off with some kale on top. Simply...delicious!! Thanks for the posting!" - MrsswillYield: 6 Ready in 1 hours, 40 minutes

Creamy Smoked Turkey and Wild Rice Soup Preparation
Heat olive oil in dutch oven. Add veggies, rosemary, pepper and garlic. Saute until browned. Stir in broth, scraping pan to loosen any brown bits. Stir in turkey and rice, bringing to a boil. Cover, reduce heat and simmer 1 hour 15 minutes or until rice is tender.
Whisk together flour and milk in a small bowl. Add to pan and cook over medium heat until thick (about 8 min), stirring frequently. Stir in sherry and salt.
