"Leek = onion family. Used only white portions as another recipe suggested. Added bacon, omitted the butter and just used the bacon grease to work the vegetables. Used fat free half & half as someone else did. Soup turned out delicious, flavorful. Served with warmed french bread."- terik1972

sarahburrough 1 year agoI used a little less potato (1 1/2 lbs) and added about 1/2 tsp of chili powder. This recipe was REALLY good. My hubby had 3 dishes of it.

mariposafria 1 year agoI have made this multiple times and it never fails.
Szerenke 1 year agoLoved this! The onion/leek thing also confused me, I put in a couple leeks and an onion, and added bacon - so good. Thanks
mitchellthompson 1 year agoThe leek is missing from the ingredient list. Other than that, this is a new fav!
BaconATX 1 year agoObservation: leeks and onion are not interchangeable. If this is indeed a 'leek' chowder, leeks ought to be one of the ingredients.
