Original recipe makes 6
| 12 slicesWhole grain bread; (a couple of days old*), cut into cubes |
| 1/4 cupMargarine, fat free |
| 1/4 cupExtra Virgin Olive Oil |
| 3 eachCelery; diced |
| 1 largeOnion; chopped |
| 3 largeEggs; beaten |
| 1 tablespoonPoultry seasoning |
| 1/2 teaspoonSage |
| 1/2 teaspoonDried thyme |
| 1/2 tablespoonGarlic powder |
| Salt |
| Pepper |
| 1 1/2 cupsChicken broth, low sodium; (more, if needed) |
The Love Chef's Bread Stuffing/dressing Preparation
You can put in bread in the oven on a cookie sheet to dry it out.
In a large skillet, melt butter and olive oil. Add celery and onion; saute until soft. Remove and combine with bread cubes, eggs, seasoning and broth.
Place in greased oven casserole dish (covered) and bake during the last hour of turkey time in oven. Remove cover the last 10 minutes of oven time.
