Delicious Paula Deen recipe
"My husband loved these. I made a vegetarian version (well, kind of) by rubbing a small bit of liquid smoke on portobello strips (removed gills first), then dipping them into the same brown sugar/chili powder mix. They weren't pretty, but were DELICIOUS. Could be made more presentable with a sprinkle of paremsan or chopped parsley.
For the chicken: my husband doesn't like soggy/moist bacon, so we ended up cooking a little longer on a higher temp to crisp the bacon. (After the recommended cooking time, turned it up to 400 and cooked for about 10-15 min)."

jjgrovesr 5 months agoExcellent dish. I made it and severed over fettuccine with a white sauce. Wife loved it. I also think this could be served with a breakfast dish.
Kingpepsisgirl 5 months agoThis was okay. The chili powder over powered the dish, though so you couldn't taste the bacon.

Joelle909 5 months agoA lot of work but worth it. I took it out five minutes early and realized bacon was not crispy. Next time i will make sure the bacon is crispy. It was not that sweet. I can't hardly tasted the chili powder. Maybe i will double it. I will make it again. This recipe is a fun one because I can see myself being creative with this one. Most importantly, my son likes it.
Houdai 6 months agoI made this on Christmas night. I marinated the chicken in a homemade hot wing sauce and when they came out of the oven they were gone in 5 minutes, and I doubled the recipe! Will definitely be making this again! So delicious!
