Delicious Paula Deen recipe
"My husband loved these. I made a vegetarian version (well, kind of) by rubbing a small bit of liquid smoke on portobello strips (removed gills first), then dipping them into the same brown sugar/chili powder mix. They weren't pretty, but were DELICIOUS. Could be made more presentable with a sprinkle of paremsan or chopped parsley.
For the chicken: my husband doesn't like soggy/moist bacon, so we ended up cooking a little longer on a higher temp to crisp the bacon. (After the recommended cooking time, turned it up to 400 and cooked for about 10-15 min)."

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cut chicken breasts into 1-inch cubes. Cut each bacon slice into thirds. Wrap each chicken cube with bacon and secure with a wooden pick. Stir together brown sugar and chili powder. Dredge wrapped chicken in mixture. Coat a rack and broiler pan with non-stick cooking spray. Place chicken on rack in broiler pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes or until bacon is crisp.

rozepoo 1 month agoI made these for my husband tonight and he loved them. I'm a vegetarian so i didn't even taste them, but they were super easy and they smelled great! Thanks for the quickie recipe!
jjgrovesr 2 months agoExcellent dish. I made it and severed over fettuccine with a white sauce. Wife loved it. I also think this could be served with a breakfast dish.
Kingpepsisgirl 2 months agoThis was okay. The chili powder over powered the dish, though so you couldn't taste the bacon.

Joelle909 2 months agoA lot of work but worth it. I took it out five minutes early and realized bacon was not crispy. Next time i will make sure the bacon is crispy. It was not that sweet. I can't hardly tasted the chili powder. Maybe i will double it. I will make it again. This recipe is a fun one because I can see myself being creative with this one. Most importantly, my son likes it.
Houdai 3 months agoI made this on Christmas night. I marinated the chicken in a homemade hot wing sauce and when they came out of the oven they were gone in 5 minutes, and I doubled the recipe! Will definitely be making this again! So delicious!
Crettenberger 3 months agoCut the bacon with scissors while it's still in the package, makes that part easier. So many variations of marinades and spices, tried most of them and they were all great!

mogriff1 10 months agoI made these for a party yesterday. The group enjoyed them and the size was perfect for appetizers. The mild heat piqued the curiosity of the guest and I was often asked what the ingredients were. I first marinated the chicken in a little hot sauce for about 10 hours then after I wrapped the chicken with bacon I dredged it in a mixture of brown sugar/cayenne pepper/chili powder. Enjoyed the flavors as well as making them. Will make again for sure.
