Delicious Paula Deen recipe

"My husband loved these. I made a vegetarian version (well, kind of) by rubbing a small bit of liquid smoke on portobello strips (removed gills first), then dipping them into the same brown sugar/chili powder mix. They weren't pretty, but were DELICIOUS. Could be made more presentable with a sprinkle of paremsan or chopped parsley.

For the chicken: my husband doesn't like soggy/moist bacon, so we ended up cooking a little longer on a higher temp to crisp the bacon. (After the recommended cooking time, turned it up to 400 and cooked for about 10-15 min)."

I made these for a party yesterday. The group enjoyed them and the size was perfect for appetizers. The mild heat piqued the curiosity of the guest and I was often asked what the ingredients were. I first marinated the chicken in a little hot sauce for about 10 hours then after I wrapped the chicken with bacon I dredged it in a mixture of brown sugar/cayenne pepper/chili powder. Enjoyed the flavors as well as making them. Will make again for sure.

My husband absolutely loves this! I do add a little more heat to it with cayenne or his favorite volcano dust. Volcano dust is a mixture of super hot peppers. You can order it at volcanic peppers.com. Becareful it's really hot!!

Used chili powder and brown sugar to coat chicken, and I used Maple bacon to give it a bit more sweetness, and a warm maple syrup dipping plate. Best SuperBowl food ever!

This was a hit in my house. I marinated the chicken in teriyaki sauce first and then used half cayenne and half chili powder in the brown sugar mixture. Like others, I also put them on skewers over a baking pan and the bacon turned out crispy. Will make again!

I marinated chicken in hot sauce overnight. I mixed cayenne with chile powder and brown sugar. I baked on long skewers on a small baking pan to get crispy bacon all around. They go quick with teenagers around!

Very easy! Extremely flavorful! After I cut the chicken breasts (I used 2) up into small pieces, I seasoned the breasts with Tony Cachere's (green bottle), a little cinnamon, & a little pepper. Then wrapped in bacon and dipped in dark brown sugar with a little chili pepper mixed in. Everyone loved it! Absolutely delicious! Simple! Will definitely be making it again.
