Sift together flour and salt. Cream butter and gradually add sugar, creaming well. Blend in egg and vanilla; beat well and stir in dry ingredients.
Press dough through a cookie press, using saw-tooth (spritz) plate, into long strips onto ungreased cookie sheets. Cut the candy bars into 1-inch pieces. Place 1/4 inch apart on strips of dough. Press another strip of dough over candy, covering completely. Mark bars between chocolate pieces.
Bake at 375 degrees for 12 to 1 minutes until light golden brown. cut into pieces immediately after removing from oven
For fancy touch, sprinkle with chopped nuts, colored sugars or sprinkles, or coconut before baking.
