Boiled Cabbage

Boiled Cabbage

Ready in 45 minutes

This simple recipe is a staple at our house; and especially on New Year's Day.

"This reminds me of the way my Grandmother Ruthie made cabbage. After my Mother the Dr took over she changed a few things to make them more healthy. Not a common thing in 1970! First she the bacon and fat back out of all our dishes and replaced it with 1 bouillon cube and a teaspoon of corn oil per quart of vegetables. Later I added a 1/4 tsp. garlic powder to that formula. Good food. We also decided the heat could be added at the table with homemade hot pepper vinegar that was extremely potent."
